Much of Cuttyhunk’s allure is its distinct lack of things to do and see—that is, other than watch the sunset over grassy cliffs, pick wildflowers, and slurp oysters on the dock. However, a few sites do deserve a visit: foremost the Navy Lookout Bunker (Tower Rd.) that sits at the island’s highest point, boasting breathtaking views of nearly the entire island and its surrounding waters.
Another worthy jaunt: through the Nature Preserve/Cliff Walk (follow the road past the Fishing Club) conservation lands, which stretch through winding trails in flower-filled woods and windswept marshes.
