There are plenty of ways to get out onto the lake. Sunapee Cruises (Sunapee Harbor, 603/938-6465, www.sunapeecruises.com, 2 p.m. daily July–Aug.; weekends only June and Sept.–mid-Oct., $18 adults, $10 children, free children under 4) offers narrated cruises in the afternoon aboard the M/V Sunapee II.
On the other side of the dock in Sunapee Harbor, the M/V Kearsarge Restaurant Ship (Sunapee Harbor, 603/938-6465, www.mvkearsarge.com, 6:30 p.m. Tues.–Sun. May–Oct., $36 per person, children’s price of $26 available only Tues., Wed., and Thurs. nights) departs for nightly narrated sunset cruises featuring a roast-beef buffet and full bar.
