A mix of shows and performances, folk and comedy sketches, dance, children’s productions, and movies are put on at the beautifully restored Capitol Center for the Arts (44 South Main St., 603/225-1111, www.ccanh.com). On a much more casual level, local singers—blues and folk to rock—make a showing on the stage at Penuche’s Ale House (16 Bicentennial Square, 603/228-9833).
On the last Saturday in July, the Canterbury Country Fair (www.canterburyfair.com) takes over Canterbury town center with crafts shows, road races, music performances, and barbecues.
