The straightforward specials at The Abbey Restaurant (6212 Rte. 105, Enosburg Falls, 800/696-4748, www.abbeygroup.net/restaurant.htm, 5 p.m.–9 p.m. Fri.–Sat.; 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Sun., $16–22) have earned a local following—as has the convivial atmosphere in the establishment’s tavern. Depending on what’s available daily, you’ll sup on prime rib, fresh scrod, and grilled pork or chicken.
Chow! Bella (28 N. Main St., St. Albans, 802/524-1405, www.chowbella.us, 10:30 a.m.–2 p.m. Sun;, 4–9:30 p.m. Mon.–Tues.; 11:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. Wed.–Sat., $12–21) may just be the best choice in town for curious palates. The cozy brick-walled restaurant emphasizes seasonal foods in a rotating menu—the likes of crabmeat-stuffed chicken breast and salmon in cider cream sauce. The list of wines by the glass is refreshingly long, and thoughtfully chosen.
