The pretty, terra cotta building at Pierrepont and Clinton Streets is home to the Brooklyn Historical Society (128 Pierrepont St., 718/222-4111, www.brooklynhistory.org, noon–5 p.m. Wed.–Fri., 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sat., noon–5 p.m. Sun., adults $6, seniors and students $4), both a library and museum, which recently completed a four-year, $23 million renovation.
The museum showcases exhibits on such Brooklyn subjects as the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the Dodgers, Coney Island, and the borough’s many ethnic communities. The society also sponsors occasional walking tours.
