Want to taste the real NY? Then it’s time for a slice (or four!). Scott’s Pizza Tour (www.scottspizzatours.com, adults $55, children $45) begins in Manhattan as guests board a classic yellow school bus, capably driven by ex-NYPD cop, Marine, and EMT, Ronnie Palmer, to explore the city’s oldest brick ovens and stand-only slice counters, as well as the history and culture of the NYC fave food.

The tour lasts 4.5 hours, hitting four different pizzerias, which might include destinations in Brooklyn, Queens, or the Bronx, all in the quest to find the perfect pie.

Scott’s stories sometimes have a bite, sometimes are laced with a fair amount of cheese, but tour enthusiasts and pizza aficionados will enjoy talking Mozz and sauce with the entertaining duo, Scott and Ron.

Those wishing to walk off their meals can opt for Scott’s NYC Pizza Walk (3 hours, 3 slices, $30), exploring 19th-century Italian immigration, Italian cheese shops, and brick ovens from Little Italy to historic Greenwich Village.

You might want to wash down that pizza tour with a guided ale tour: Uncle Sam’s (www.unclesamsnewyork.com, 3.5 hours, $60, includes three drinks). West Village, Hell’s Kitchen, or East Village Pub Crawls appeal to those with a short window to check out the city, each tailored toward the particular history of the chosen neighborhood allowing a glimpse into taverns where famous figures like Abraham Lincoln and O’Henry once sat to sip.
