The South Shore

Like the North Shore, the South Shore is unbearably congested near New York City. However, just off its coast, is a long line of barrier islands lined with beaches, beaches, and more beaches.

The South Shore is home to some of the longest, widest, whitest beaches in the world, stretching out for miles and miles against the pounding surf of the Atlantic.

Nearest to the city are Lido Beach, Long Beach, and the famed Jones Beach, followed by the beaches of Fire Island, and the beaches of the South Fork.
