Buffalo loves a festival. In mid-May, there’s the Buffalo Greek Fest (Hellenic Orthodox Church Of the Annunciation, 146 West Utica Street, 716/882-7121, www.buffalogreekfestival.org, adults $2, children 12 and under free), featuring Greek food, dance, and music.

In early June the Allentown Art Festival (Allentown Village Society, Inc., 716/881-4269, www.allentownartfestival.com) highlights work by over 400 artists and artisans.

In mid-June the Juneteenth Festival (1517 Genesee St., 716/891-8801, www.juneteenthofbuffalo.com) takes place in Martin Luther King, Jr. Park.

The Friendship Festival (Riverside Park, Niagara and Vulcan Sts., 888/333-1987, www.friendshipfestival.com)in early July commemorates two centuries of peace between the United States and Canada with fireworks, food, and musical acts.

One of the nation’s largest outdoor food fests is the Taste of Buffalo (www.tasteofbuffalo.com) in mid-July.

Two popular heritage fests are the Sorrento Cheese Italian Heritage Festival (www.buffaloitalianfestival.com) in July and Polish-American Arts Festival (www.polfunfest.com) in August.
