Although there are a number of casual eateries in and around Sunriver’s main shopping area, as well as a well-stocked grocery store, two local restaurants stand out.
The Meadows, in Sunriver Resort’s main lodge (541/593-3740, 7 a.m.–9 p.m. daily, breakfast $8–12, lunch $12–16, dinner $19–34), is an attractive restaurant with a Western theme and good views of the mountains over the golf course. Dinners include seared trout with smoked hazelnuts, capers, tomatoes, and spinach.
The
Trout House (541/596-8880, 8 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 5–9 p.m. daily, breakfast $5–13, dinner $17–32), next to the marina in Sunriver, is known for both its food and its lovely views onto the Deschutes River. Not surprisingly, fish, including a tasty cioppino, is a good bet. Breakfast in this riverside setting is a special treat; go for the trout and eggs.
