With its wealth of large, elegant Victorian homes, it’s not surprising that Astoria has more bed-and-breakfasts than any other town on the Oregon coast. The historic former homes of merchants, politicians, sea captains, and salmon canners number among them.

In addition, a classic downtown hotel has been completely spiffed up and renovated, offering very comfortable rooms with vintage elegance. Several new hotels take advantage of wonderful riverfront views.

You’ll also find about a dozen motels to choose from in and around Astoria, most of them located along U.S. 30, otherwise known as Marine Drive, in the northwest section of town. Most are fairly similar and don’t have the charm that the town’s B&Bs offer, but they’re generally a bit less expensive and are reasonably close to downtown.

The prices noted in this travel guide are for high season (summer) double-occupancy rooms. Rates fall by as much as half off-season.
