RoxyAnn Winery (3285 Hillcrest Rd., 541/776-2315, www.roxyann.com) is one of the top wineries in southern Oregon, and conveniently the tasting room is immediately east of Medford in an old pear orchard. Roxyann makes particularly good, rich red wines—the claret and Syrah are especially delicious.
The tasting room is in an old barn, and it’s a good spot to stop if you don’t have time to explore other wineries because it serves as the tasting room for a number of regional wineries that are too small to maintain their own tasting rooms. There is also a good selection of cheeses and local gourmet items for sale.
