Most of the hotels in the Bocas del Toro archipelago are in Bocas town, and most of these are built right on the water. But there are more and more options around Isla Colón and on the other major islands of the archipelago. There’s quite a variety of accommodations, ranging from simple but clean hostels to modern midrange hotels to bed-and-breakfasts to rather upscale and exotic bungalows. All have hot water unless otherwise indicated.

Rates have climbed faster in Bocas than in other parts of the country. Low-season breaks and other deals are often available. Many of the hotels have websites that are accessible through www.bocas.com.

Note, however, that a lot of the lodgings, especially the cheaper ones, are exceedingly lame about keeping their websites up to date or alive at all, and many are bad about answering their email. A phone call is often the best way to go.
