A wacky adventure opportunity is Action Valley (Santa Teresa 352, tel. 084/24-0835, www.actionvalley.com, US$64 bungee jump, US$20 paint ball). This park, 11 kilometers from Cusco on the road to Chinchero, has a 107-meter bungee drop, a catapult that throws people 120 meters into the air with 3.2 g’s of force, a 36-meter climbing pole, a 124-meter rappel wall, and a 10-meter climbing wall.

There are some beautiful paragliding spots in the Cusco area. Leo Paragliding School (Triunfo 392, of. 202, tel. 084/23-9477, www.cusco.net/leo paragliding, US$75 pp) offers tandem flights as well as paragliding training courses.

Another recommendable option for tandem paragliding flights over the Sacred Valley is Viento Sur, run by the European owners of Sol y Luna Hotel in Urubamba (tel. 084/20-1620, www.hotelsolyluna.com, US$195 pp).

Via Ferrata (tel. 084/984-11-2731, www.naturavive.com, US$45 pp, family rates available) is a 300-meter rock face located in Pacha between Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. It is equipped with wire cables and footholds to allow people with no previous experience to enjoy the adrenaline rush of rock with all the necessary safety equipment.
