Hospedaje Inti Wasi (Las Orquideas M-23, tel. 084/21-1036, jddggk [at] latinmail [dot] com, US$5 pp) is the nicest budget place in terms of natural surroundings. To get there, walk from the train station all the way up the right side of the Río Aguas Calientes until it dead-ends at a point a few hundred meters below the hot baths. The main sitting area is a plant-filled courtyard, diffused with yellow light from a yellow, semitransparent roof and echoing with the sounds of the river nearby. The bunk rooms are small and sparse, with foam beds, and have a tendency to heat up in the sun. Bathrooms are clean, with water heated by electric showerheads.
