La Olla de Barro (corner of Pedro Canga and Serafín Filomeno, tel. 042/56-1034, 8 a.m.–11 p.m. daily, US$3–7) serves traditional food as well as pizzas and pastas in a charming, jungle-themed atmosphere.
El Avispa Juane (corner of Alonso de Alvarado and 25 de Mayo, tel. 064/56-3904, 9 a.m.–9 p.m. daily, US$2–7) is another good option for regional food, with a set menu (US$2) and a variety of dishes, including juanes, of course.
Chico’s Burger Club (corner of Pedro Canga and Plaza de Armas, tel. 042/56-1222, 3 p.m.–2:30 a.m. daily, US$3–5) is a greasy spoon serving burgers, milk shakes, and pizzas.
The restaurant at Hotel Puerto Mirador (Sucre s/n, tel. 042/56-2050, 8 a.m.–11 p.m. daily, US$5–10), serves Peruvian dishes and international food in a peaceful setting. Juices are great and the fish is pretty good.
