COST: $6 adult, $3 student and senior, free member, child under 12, Penn staff, and students
One day, the lay public will understand the difference between modern, postmodern, and contemporary art, but until then, the Institute of Contemporary Art is keeping its name direct and to the point. The ICA, nestled away on Penn’s campus in University City, hosts exhibitions, commissions works, produces publications, and holds educational programs.
Hopefully, those classes will be able to explain why a gallery showing Rothko would never put up a piece by Duchamp. The museum is free on Sunday 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
