When it moved from Center City to Old City in 1995, the Arden Theatre helped reinvigorate the old industrial neighborhood and injected the Philly theater scene with new energy.

Since 1988, Arden has been producing top-quality productions of plays, musicals, and children’s shows. On its 360-seat main stage and 175-seat blackbox, shows range from reinterpretations of Shakespeare and Shaw to works by emerging playwrights like Pamela Gien and David Auburn.
