Moravian Pottery and Tile Works
A more in-depth look at Mercer’s famous tiles produced during the American arts and crafts movement can be seen at the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works (130 Swamp Rd., 215/345-6722, daily 10 a.m.–4:45 p.m., $3.50 adult, $3 senior, $2 child) on the grounds of Fonthill. The working history museum continues to produce tiles and mosaics in a similar manner to Mercer’s original works.
Tours of the 1912 factory are offered every half hour and consist of a 17-minute video and a self-guided walk where you can see original installations and various displays about tile production.
