This restaurant/bar has two faces. By day, The Plough and the Stars is a respectable place to grab a nice sit-down lunch on the main floor or on the balcony of the high-ceilinged space. By night, it lives up to its prime Old City location and hosts some of the loudest partying, drinking, and dancing in town.
Though ostensibly Irish, the Plough’s menu has a decidedly contemporary flair, with Mahi Fillet, avocado mousse, and a fairly extensive wine and drinks list alongside the bangers and mash, and fish-and-chips.
There’s also a decent brunch and bar menu and what many claim is the best pint of Guinness in the city.
