As the website of this seemingly odd-named café explains, “ants’ pants” is an Australian colloquial term meaning “the best” or “height of fashion.” Well, if I were Australian I would say that the coffee, food, and atmosphere at this small local haunt are “the ants’ pants.”
They serve breakfast, lunch, and brunch, and while snagging a seat on the weekend is often challenging, at most other times, this is a place where you can sit for hours over your coffee, book, or laptop (free WiFi is provided).
Don’t miss the crème brûlée–battered French toast, the Salmon BLAT (smoked salmon, bacon, lettuce and tomato), or the delicious spinach salads. When the weather is nice, sit outside in the small back patio area.
