Expect a few pleasant perks like flat-screen TVs and continental breakfast, and be sure to call the motel directly for any late-breaking deals.

Loaded with character, Adobe Village Graham Inn (150 Canyon Circle Dr., 928/284-1425, www.adobevillagegrahaminn.com, $200–250 d) promises a bit of “rustic luxury” and doesn’t disappoint. The boutique inn’s unique rooms and villas earn kudos for their Western decor and romantic ambience. Try to reserve the Sundance Room, which offers a fireplace, wood-plank flooring, king-size canopy bed, and large bathroom with a rainforest shower and jet tub. For a real splurge, go with the Wilderness Villa, a picturesque gem with log walls, a charming periwinkle-blue sleigh bed, and a river-rock fireplace that connects the bedroom with a two-person tub. The small gardens and incomparable views of Bell, Cathedral, and Courthouse Rocks make this bed-and-breakfast a real find.

Adobe Hacienda Bed & Breakfast (10 Rojo Dr., 800/454-7191, www.adobe-hacienda .com, $199–239 d) bills itself as “Sedona’s most authentic Southwest-style bed and breakfast inn,” and it may just be. The small bed-and-breakfast’s five guest rooms are each decorated with traditional Southwestern touches, like lodge pole beams, Saltillo tile floors, Native American rugs, hand-painted Mexican sinks, and cozy Pendleton blankets. Owners Pauline and Brad Staub are the consummate hosts, happy to point you in the direction of an easy hiking trail or to serve up a hearty breakfast on the flagstone patio that overlooks the adjacent golf course and the red rocks. Call for last-minute discounts or to request a specific room.

Families will appreciate the recently renovated Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa (90 Ridge Trail Dr., 928/284–4040, www.hiltonsedona.com, $209–239 d), which provides an impressively diverse assortment of amenities for its price, including a championship golf course, a fitness center, a full-service spa, and multiple pools. Guest rooms and one-bedroom suites—which can accommodate up to five people—are tastefully decorated with Southwestern accents and boast gas fireplaces and small balconies. The helpful and friendly staff is happy to provide recommendations on local restaurants, tours, and hiking trails. Perched on a hill overlooking the Village of Oak Creek and Bell Rock, the hotel’s location far from the crowds of Uptown can provide a nice change of pace.

Las Posadas of Sedona (26 Avenida De Piedras, 928/284-5288, www.lasposadasofsedona.com, $179–219 d) calls itself a bed-and-breakfast, though the sprawling property and all-suite hotel feels more like a large condo complex. It’s a not a bad choice if you are planning to spend more than a few days in Sedona and need a home away from home. The French-trained chef goes above and beyond every morning to create a tasty three-course breakfast, and some of Oak Creek’s best restaurants are within walking distance.

About halfway between Uptown and the Village of Oak Creek, Radisson Poco Diablo Resort (1752 S. Highway 179, 928/282-7333, info [at] RadissonSedona [dot] com, $149–195 d) offers travelers a hint of luxury without breaking the bank. Aside from red-rock views and lots of nearby hiking, the “Little Devil” lures its visitors with a fitness center, a swimming pool, a nine-hole golf course, and pristine tennis courts. Worried about catching your ZZZ’s after all that action? Don’t be. The standard room offers a Sleep Number bed, and for a few bucks more you can relax in your own private whirlpool bath.
