The cozy restaurant, tucked into an old grove forest, is well known by locals for having the best steaks in town, grilling tender filets and marbled ribeyes. Non-beefeaters will find chicken dishes and an impressive selection of seafood, expertly prepared. And for a little fun, all entrées come with a choice of toppings, including sautéed mushrooms, gorgonzola-walnut butter, and pepper-brandy sauce.

The garlic-sautéed lobster blinis at Heartline Café (1610 W. Hwy. 89A, 928/282-0785, 4:30–10 p.m. daily, $15–32) are a Sedona classic. The hard-to-categorize restaurant features Southwestern flavors, Asian touches, and a little continental flair, like the roasted pear and butternut squash soup or the tea-smoked chicken dumplings with spicy peanut sauce. There are seafood, pasta, and vegetarian dishes on the menu, and plenty for meat eaters.
