On Avenida Magdalena is a pair of Mexican restaurants with the same name, Cielito Linda (1108 Ave. Magdalena, 787/723-5597 or 787/723-5597). The one on the left (Mon.–Fri. 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m., Sat. 6–11 p.m., Sun. 5–10 p.m., $4.95–17.95) is a tiny kitschy taqueria serving fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, and burritos. Two doors down is a slightly bigger, nicer eatery (Thurs. 5–11 p.m., Fri.–Sat. 6–11 p.m., Sun. 5–10 p.m., $7.95–19.95) serving beef tenderloin, marinated pork, and shrimp in tequila sauce, in addition to the typical taco, enchilada, and burrito fare. Both have full bars and specialize in frozen drinks.
Hacienda Don Jose (1025 Ave. Ashford, 787/722-5880, daily 7 a.m.–11 p.m., $12.95–32.95. A casual spot serving Puerto Rican and Mexican cuisine, including tacos, enchiladas, and burritos.
