The Town Plaza

The Santiago Ixcuintla town plaza is a couple of blocks directly inland from the riverbank. The main town streets border the plaza: running east–west are 20 de Noviembre on the north side and Zaragoza on the south side; Hidalgo and Allende run north–south along the east and west sides, respectively.

During your stroll around the plaza, admire the pretty old church and the voluptuous Porfirian nymphs who decorate the gloriously restored bandstand. Stroll beneath the shaded porticos and the colorful market, a block west and a block north of the plaza.
