At Bumble Bee’s Baja Grill (301 Jefferson St., 505/820-2862, 7:30 a.m.–9 p.m. Sun.–Thurs., 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Fri. and Sat., $5) fat bumblebee piñatas dangling from the ceiling set a cheerful tone. The specialty at this upscale taco joint is Baja shrimp tacos—but made healthy by grilling rather than frying. They’re garnished with shredded cabbage and a creamy sauce, plus a spritz of lime and your choice of house-made salsas. Lamb tacos are also delicious, as are the fried-fresh tortilla chips and that Tijuana classic, Caesar salad. In the morning, fresh and tasty breakfast burritos are served, and you might catch a live jazz act on Saturday nights. The place closes an hour earlier in the winter.
