If you are in the mood for a steak, there is really nowhere better to go than Regas Restaurant (318 N. Gay St., 865/637-3427, lunch Mon.–Fri. 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m., dinner Mon.–Tues. 5–9 p.m., Wed. 5–9:30 p.m., Thurs.–Sat. 5–10 p.m., $14–40). Opened by Greek immigrants in 1919, Regas has evolved into Knoxville’s first choice for fine dining. Choose from no less than six steak options, plus fresh seafood including shrimp and grits and New Zealand lobster tail. At lunch Regas rolls up its sleeves a bit and offers casual business lunches like a shaved prime rib sandwich and lemon chicken with rice pilaf.
