The 100-acre Memphis Botanic Garden (750 Cherry Rd., 901/576-4100, www.memphisbotanicgarden.com, adults $5, seniors $4, children $3) is home to more than 140 different species of trees and more than two dozen specialty gardens, including a Sculpture Garden, Azalea Trail, and Iris Garden.
Trails meander through the gardens, but for the greatest fun buy a handful of fish food and feed the fish and ducks that inhabit the pond at the Japanese Garden.
The garden puts on a number of events, including blockbuster concerts, plant sales, and programs for children.
