Organizers of the Nashville Farmer’s Market have hit upon a good thing. The outdoor components of the market include a farm shed with fresh produce year-round and a flea market with arts and crafts on weekends. The interior of the market is a food court with choices ranging from Southern specialties to Caribbean cuisine.

Swett’s (900 8th Ave. N., 615/742-9699), a popular soul food restaurant, has an outpost here. Jamaicaway (900 8th Ave. N., 615/255-5920) serves oxtail, steamed fish, and Jamaican patties. There are also Mexican, Chinese, and Greek choices, as well as a super salad bar. The food court is open daily 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
