The onetime home of noted journalist, writer, educator, and activist J. Antonio Jarvis has been restored and opened as a community learning center and museum. The J. Antonio Jarvis Museum and Learning Center (Dronningen’s Gade) houses the writings and artwork of Jarvis and other Virgin Islanders. A work-in-progress, the center is also used by community groups and organizations for meetings and workshops. For information, contact the Historic Preservation Office at 340/776-8605.
Jarvis, born in 1901, was the cofounder of the Virgin Islands Daily News.
