There are three major grocery stores in Road Town, plus a number of wholesale distributors and smaller markets. This is also the venue for a weekly Saturday morning farmers market, your best opportunity to find local fruits and vegetables and meet the people who grow them.
Grocery stores include Bobby’s Supermarket (284/495-2140) on Wickham’s Cay, which is open every day until midnight. The other big grocery store is Riteway Food Markets (284/494-2263), with shops at Road Reef, Flemming Street, and Pasea Estate.
The weekly farmers market is held 4:30–7:30 a.m. Saturdays (yes, it really does start that early). The market takes place in the shadows of the RFG Plaza near the Road Town roundabout. Vendors sell locally grown fruit and vegetables, as well as hot sauces, preserves, tarts, and breakfast.
