Windsor rockers, birdhouses, and jarred fruit greet guests at Blue Duck Tavern, heralding the restaurant’s American focus, but the design is anything but “country” in this chic eatery.
In view of the dining room of dark oak, blue burlap, and handcrafted furniture, chef Brian McBride prepares contemporary American cuisine with mainly local ingredients: wild striped bass, thick hanger steak, and duck breast with huckleberries.
The Blue Duck, in the Park Hyatt, is a favorite for visiting celebrities as well as those who live here. President and Mrs. Obama celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary in this contemporary space; Bono is known to stay at the Park Hyatt and dine at the Blue Duck, and country stars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw have eaten more than one meal here.
Save room for the delicious apple pie.
