Garden Isle Guest Cottages B&B (207 N.W. Coveland St., 360/678-5641 or 877/881-1203, www.gardenislecottages.com, $130–140 d) features two cottages with kitchens and a continental breakfast. One cottage has a gas fireplace, and both share an outside hot tub.
The Inn at Penn Cove B&B (702 N. Main, 360/678-8000 or 800/688-2683, www.whidbey.net/penncove, $129–149 d) spreads across two lovingly restored Victorian homes built in 1887 and 1891. Inside each are three guest rooms with private or shared baths and fireplaces. Kids are accepted with advance notice.
