Potlatch State Park
Enjoy camping, diving, clamming, crabbing, and fishing in Hood Canal at Potlatch State Park (three miles south of Hoodsport on Hwy. 101, 360/877-6947, www.parks.wa.gov). Have a picnic on the water, or explore the underwater park with scuba gear. The park is named for the feasts held by many Northwestern Indians, in which the exchanging of gifts was the primary focus. The campground ($17 for tents, $23 for RVs) is open year-round.
