Union
The scattered settlement of Union occupies land near the “elbow” where Hood Inlet angles abruptly to the northeast. Summer and weekend homes crowd the highway, struggling to find their place among the relics of the past, such as the very picturesque Dalby Waterwheel, built in 1923 and still able to generate electricity if the need arose.
A few miles west is the Skokomish Indian Reservation, near the intersection of Highways 101 and 106. You can tell you’re on the reservation by all the fireworks stands that line the highway. The tribal center houses a small museum with arts and crafts.
