A number of trails begin at Hurricane Ridge, including 1.5-mile Hurricane Hill Trail, a paved walk to the top of 5,757-foot Hurricane Hill that passes picnic areas, marmot colonies, and spectacular vistas.
A longer hike, the Klahanee Ridge Trail, follows the ridge’s summit for four miles after leaving the paved trail near the marmot colonies. It continues downhill to Heart O’ the Hills Campground, or you can return back to Hurricane Ridge.
In addition to these, visitors to Hurricane Ridge will find three other short paved trails through the flower-filled meadows with views of the Olympics. Longer paths lead downhill to the Elwha Valley and along the Little River. From Obstruction Peak, additional trails provide access into the heart of the Olympics.
