Bed & Breakfast on Broadway (722 Broadway E, 206/329-8933 or 888/329-8933, www.bbonbroadway.com, $105–135 s or $135–175 d is a 1906 home with the original stained glass windows, oriental rugs, a fireplace, and a grand piano. The three guest rooms have private baths. A continental breakfast is served, and no children under 16 are allowed.
Housed in a historic 1905 home, the stately Gaslight Inn (1727 15th Ave., 206/325-3654, www.gaslight-inn.com, $88–159 s or d) is one of the larger B&Bs in Seattle, with eight rooms (private or shared baths), a library, outdoor pool, and continental breakfast. It frequently books up far ahead, so reserve early for the summer. No kids are allowed here.
Thankfully for B&B-loving families, several places do welcome the little ones. One of the most impressive is Bacon Mansion B&B (959 Broadway E, 206/329-1864 or 800/240-1864, www.baconmansion.com, $99–179 s or d). This superb 1909 Tudor mansion sprawls over four levels, with an adjacent carriage house. Inside the mansion you'll find marble fireplaces, a crystal chandelier, grand piano, and 11 guest rooms, nine with private baths. An expanded continental breakfast is served.
Built in 1890, Mildred’s B&B (1202 15th Ave. E, 206/325-6072 or 800/889-2110, www.mildredsbnb.com, $90–165 s or d) is an attractive Capitol Hill Victorian with a wraparound porch facing Volunteer Park. It has four guest rooms with private baths, and the living room contains a grand piano and fireplace. Guests also have fun on the little putting green on the front lawn. Kids are welcome here.
