Pho Bac (415 7th Ave. S., 206/323-4387, 9 a.m.–7 p.m. daily) is a haven for those of us who love the Vietnamese staple, a flavorful soup called pho. It’s all they serve, so you know they do it right here! The setting is budget, and so are the prices—$6.50 for a large bowl.
If pho isn’t your game, don’t give up on Vietnamese food! Try the delicious bahn mi, or Vietnamese sandwiches, at Saigon Vietnam Deli (1200 S. Jackson St., 206/328-2357, 7 a.m.–8p.m. daily) for something completely different. Consisting of soft baguettes, crispy veggies, and meats such as shredded pork, ham, and pate, these make for a cheap and filling meal — most sandwiches clock in at a miniscule $2.
