Bamboo Garden Vegetarian Cuisine (364 Roy St., 206/282-6616, www.bamboogarden.net, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily, $11) is a popular Chinese vegetarian restaurant near Seattle Center. It isn't appealing outside, but the interior is considerably more inviting.
Take your pick: Orrapin Thai Cuisine (10 Boston St. in Queen Anne, 206/283-7118, www.orrapin.com, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily, $11) and Bahn Thai (409 Roy St., 206/283-0444, www.bahnthaimenu.com, $11) are inexpensive and both offer fantastic Thai specials. Orrapin offers better Tom Kah and curries, and Bahn better noodle dishes such as Phad See Ew.
For Asian fusion try Asian Breeze (366 Roy St., 206/285-6713, 5–10 p.m., $14) where the food is always packed with garlic, and the portions are enormous. It’s excellent and reasonable.
