Seattle’s best quick pizza place is Pizzeria Pagliacci (www.pagliacci.com), with three sit-down locations around town, including one on the Ave (4529 University Way NE, 206/632-0421, 5–11 p.m. Mon.–Fri., 4–midnight Sat.–Sun.). This is about as close as you can get to real New York–style pizzas: perfect thin crusts and distinctive toppings. Several types of pizzas are always available by the slice at this location, along with calzones and lasagna.
Northlake Tavern & Pizza House (660 NE Northlake Way, 206/633-5317, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Sun.–Thurs., 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Fri., 11 a.m.–midnight Sat.) mixes three American favorites: great pizza, beer, and sports on the television. The place is a favorite haunt of University of Washington sports fans, but nobody under 21 is allowed because it’s a bar.
