Accommodations and Food
Lodging isn’t fancy in North Bend, but the motels here do make a cheap stop for those heading west over the pass toward Seattle.
Edgewick Inn (14600 468th Ave. SE, 425/888-9000, $75 s or $85 d) doesn’t have the absolute cheapest rooms, but with easy freeway access and updated and well-kept rooms it is the best value. There is a microwave and a fridge in the lobby available for guest use.
The Roaring River at North Bend B&B (46715 S.E. 129th St., 425/888-4834 or 877/627-4647, www.theroaringriver.com, $109–175 d, no kids) offers views of the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. Most of the five rooms have private entrances and baths, gas fireplaces, and decks. A warm breakfast basket is delivered to your door.
George’s Bakery (127 W. North Bend Way, 425/888-0632, Tues. 7 a.m.–3 p.m., Wed.–Sun. 7 a.m.–5 p.m., closed Mon.) is a favorite local gathering place that serves sweets, fresh-baked breads, sandwiches, and salads.
The standout place in North Bend is Gaston’s (101 W. North Bend Way, 425/888-1803), with a romantic atmosphere and food that includes a variety of reasonably priced homemade pastas. Delicious desserts, too.
