Gig Harbor’s Paradise Theater (253/851-7529) has productions in Celebrations Meadow during the summer months and at Burton Park Theater on winter weekends. Celebrations Meadow is on the left side of Peacock Hill Avenue, about a half mile up from Harborview; the Burton Park Theater is at the extreme north end of 38th Avenue NW.
Tides Tavern (2925 Harborview Dr., 253/858-3982) has live rock or blues bands on the weekends.
Gig Harbor events include the Maritime Gig (253/851-6865, www.maritimegig.com) on the first weekend of June.
The Gig Harbor Art Festival (www.peninsulaartleague.com/artFest.html) on the third weekend in July features a parade, kids’ fest, art fair, fun run, live music, and a salmon dinner. Gig Harbor’s Lighted Boat Parade (253/851-1807) on the second Saturday of December is another enjoyable event.
