The Rhododendron Species Foundation Garden (Weyerhaeuser Way, 253/661-9377, www.rhodygarden.org, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Fri.–Wed. March–May, 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Sat.–Wed. the rest of the year, $3.50 adults, $2.50 students and seniors, free for kids under 12) displays over 2,100 varieties of wild rhododendrons from around the world in a 24-acre garden.
This is the world’s largest collection in one garden, and something is in bloom March–September. The garden is operated by the nonprofit Rhododendron Species Foundation, which also offers workshops, classes, and tours for members.
