The Tacoma Farmers Market (253/272-7077, www.tacomafarmersmarket.com) comes to 9th and Broadway (Antique Row) runs 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Thursday June through mid-October. Stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables, along with arts and crafts. Another farmers market is held in Proctor (4001 N. 26th St., 253/223-4655, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Sat. June–early Sept.).
Out in the Proctor District, the Queen Anne Thriftway (2420 N. Proctor, 253/761-3663) is a great gourmet grocery store with imported and specialty foods and a fine deli.
