Families with active kids are in for a treat at the

You can let the little fishes loose on the inn’s fantastic water park with four indoor pools and a giant twisty, turny water slide. There’s a hot tub for the adults, too. The hotel also offers a free hotel shuttle. Rooms come equipped with high-speed Internet, but you’ve got to pay for it.

Within walking distance of the Spokane River and Riverside Park, Courtyard by Marriott (401 N. Riverpoint Blvd., 509/456-7600 or 800/321-2211, www.courtyard.com, $139 s or d) features an indoor pool, hot tub, and exercise room.

Hannah’s Garden Inn B&B (820 W. 7th Ave., 509/747-6235, www.hannahsgardeninn.com, $110–150 d) is another grand historic home with an attractive garden and five guest rooms with shared or private baths. It’s close to downtown and Manitou Park.

Waverly Place B&B (709 W. Waverly Place, 509/328-1856, www.waverlyplace.com, $105–135 d) is a Victorian-era home on Corbin Park. Built in 1902, this gorgeous B&B features hardwood floors, gas chandeliers, a wraparound porch, and an outdoor swimming pool. The four guest rooms have private or shared baths, and kids are welcome. A gourmet breakfast is served.
