Spokane is justly proud of its numerous public and private golf courses, and is considered one of the five best golfing cities in America. More than a dozen can be found in the area, including Indian Canyon (S. Assembly and West Dr., 509/747-5353), one of the top public courses in the U.S. and the site of many major golf tournaments.

Golfers who love the sport for its outdoorsy aspects will also appreciate The Creek at Qualchan Golf Course (301 E. Meadow Lane, 509/448-9317), which boasts its own bird and wildlife sanctuary, along with well-manicured fairways and greens.
