With beautiful scenery, long sunny days, and more than 500 courses, western Canada is an ideal spot for golfers. Some of the world’s best-known golf courses are in western Canada, along with hundreds you’ve probably never heard of, including a few in the Northwest Territories and the Yukon with artificial grass greens.
Municipal courses offer the lowest greens fees, generally $10–25, but the semiprivate, private, and resort courses usually boast the most spectacular locations. At these courses, greens fees can be more than $200. At all but the smallest municipal courses, club rentals, power carts, and lessons are available; and at all but the most exclusive city courses, nonmembers are welcomed with open arms.
