EXPLORE VIRGIN ISLANDS: Anegada
The Flats

The Flats

Anegada’s other fishing ground is the flats, the shallow expanse of sea along the southern coast of the island, where fly fishers come to tackle bonefish, one of the most elusive and challenging game fish around. Extending along the southern shore from Setting Point eastward to the tip of the island, the flats are also a good area for kayaking or puttering around on a small boat. (Make sure it is small, though, because the draft is quite shallow.)

To find the easiest place to explore the flats, look for the small bridge along the southern coastal road and an abandoned bar and restaurant called the Pink Flamingo. If you want to fish, however, it is best to hire a guide who can take you to the best and most reliable areas for fishing.
