The Waterfront

As you reach the lakeshore along Calle la Calzada [1], turn right and pass through “the rooks” (a pair of statues) to enter the Complejo Turístico, a short row of restaurants and discos lining the lakeshore.

None of the restaurants has a menu worth recommending, but the shady ambience and fresh lake breeze set the tone for languid afternoons (as long as the annoying no-see-ums called chayules aren’t too numerous).

Somehow this places fails to live up to its potential, and even the swimming is not good, but there remains no better place to appreciate Granada [2]’s gorgeous lacustrine panorama.
