Last week, I was in the mood for cocktails , particularly those created and/or regularly served in the Big Easy. That was due, of course, to three factors. One, my Moon New Orleans guidebook had just been released. Two, my husband, Dan, and I are about to embark on our seasonal move from northern Michigan to New Orleans. And three, well, I really love cocktails, and it doesn't take much for me to think about them – despite the fact that, as a lightweight, I don't drink them all that often.
Well, given the current frenzy of winterizing our Michigan home, packing up our stuff, and preparing for our lengthy road trip back to the Crescent City, I forgot to mention that I'll soon be interviewed by Arthur von Wiesenberger, a veteran travel expert and radio show host, and his producer, Michelle Karam. The one-hour travel show, “Around the World,” is broadcast live from Santa Barbara every Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. PST (PDT), on KZSB (AM 1290) – and simultaneously shown on the program's website. During our conversation, which is scheduled to begin at 10:26 a.m. (in less than 45 minutes!), we'll likely discuss New Orleans attractions and my brand-new guide, but who knows where our mutual passion for travel will take us?
Although I'm sorry for the lateness of this announcement, the good news is that the show will be rebroadcast tonight on AM 1290, from 8 to 9 p.m. PDT, and again on Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m. PDT. Even better, you should be able to download an mP3 of the show (including my interview) from the website's audio archives within 48 hours of the broadcast.
