El Pancho (Avenida Hipólito Yrigoyen 1110, tel. 02767/42-5085) is an open-flame parrilla whose specialty is chivito (grilled goat). El Romancero (Belgrano 338, tel. 02627/42-2336), the Jockey Club restaurant, has a standard Argentine menu in agreeable surroundings.
Other options include the Italian La Gringa (Chile 26, tel. 02627/43-6500) and the parrilla La Fusta (Avenida Hipólito Yrigoyen 538, tel. 02627/42-9726), whose US$10 dinner includes a diverse salad bar, an entrée, and dessert. Its wine list focuses on local vintages.
The star of the scene, though, is El Restauro (Comandante Salas and Day, tel. 02627/44-5482), with a sophisticated regional menu in surroundings that invite you to linger over the food. The service is impeccable, and the prices are reasonable for what it offers.
Las Delicias (Avenida Hipólito Yrigoyen 597), a very good ice creamery, also has Wi-Fi, but it’s often overrun with noisy children.
